Dismember und mächtige Epigonen: Zweifellos erwischten wir Fred Estby (Drums) der schwedischen Death-Metal-Kapelle zu einem sehr frühen Zeitpunkt, aber die Begeisterung in der Redaktion über ein neues Dismember-Album kannte eben keine Geduld. Dementsprechend versuchten wir, alles in Erfahrung zu bringen, was es schon erzählen gibt. In der ausführlichen Titelstory geht es dabei nicht nur um die Todesblei-Heroen selbst, sondern auch um deren musikalische Erben – von Lik über Stass bis hin zu Vomitheist. Ein detailreiches Gespräch mit Dan Seagrave, dem visuellen Mastermind hinter „Like An Everflowing Stream“, rundet die Geschichte ab. 

Mit den beiden Co-Titeln zu In This Moment und Tarja Turunen biegen wir nicht nur in die modernere Spielform des Metal ab, sondern hatten auch die Chance, mit zwei sehr erfolgreichen Frauen zu reden, die schon lange die Szene unsicher machen und ihre Genres beherrschen. Spannende Einsichten garantiert! Kurz vor Redaktionsschluss erreichte uns noch die Meldung, dass Tom G. Warriors Triumph Of Death ein Live-Album mit vielen Hellhammer-Klassikern veröffentlichen werden. Der Schweizer Künstler offenbart im Gespräch einige Details über die Live-Auftritte mit seiner „alten“ Band sowie einige Hinweise hinsichtlich eines kommenden Triptykon-Albums!

Den viel gerühmten und verehrten Amis von Autopsy gelang es auch mit der neuen Veröffentlichung, den Soundcheck zu erobern, und so war ein ausführliches Gespräch mit Herr Reifert Pflicht. Apropos Legenden: Wenn die Ruhrpott-Thrasher Sodom eine EP auf die Welt loslassen, dann muss diese umfassend analysiert werden – am besten im Gespräch mit Herrn Angelripper höchstpersönlich. 

Wem das alles noch nicht genug Lärm ist, der darf sich auf 30 volle Seiten Infos zu den wichtigsten Black-Metal-Releases freuen. Die Bandbreite reicht von Post-Black Metal à la Rüyyn über traditionellen Stoff wie Alasteth und Korgonthurus bis zu abgespactem, progressivem Wahnsinn von Malokarpatan, die sich die Biografie Kaiser Rudolfs II. auf ihrem neuesten Album vornehmen. 

Selbstverständlich lässt das Legacy auch den Sommer neu aufleben, und zwar mit Live-Berichten über das Summer Breeze, das Festival-Mediaval, das Neuborn Open Air (NOAF) sowie das Prophecy Fest! Abschließend: Auch wenn manche es in der Szene nicht gern zugeben, aber spätestens nach Auftritten auf fast allen wichtigen Sommerfestivals dieses Jahr ist die Band Kanonenfieber „the next hot thing“. Dismember and mighty epigones: We undoubtedly caught Fred Estby (drums) of the Swedish Death Metal band at a very early stage, but the editorial team's excitement about a new Dismember album knew no patience. Accordingly, we tried to find out everything there was to tell. In the detailed cover story, it's not only about the Death Metal heroes themselves but also about their musical heirs – from Lik and Stass to Vomitheist. An in-depth conversation with Dan Seagrave, the visual mastermind behind "Like An Everflowing Stream", completes the story. 

With the two co-features about In This Moment and Tarja Turunen, we not only delve into the modern variant of Metal but also had the chance to talk to two very successful women who have long been stirring up the scene and dominating their genres. Fascinating insights guaranteed! Just before the editorial deadline, we received news that Tom G. Warrior's Triumph Of Death will release a live album featuring many Hellhammer classics. The Swiss artist reveals in the interview some details about the live performances with his "old" band as well as some hints regarding an upcoming Triptykon album!

The highly acclaimed and revered Americans Autopsy managed to conquer the soundcheck once again, so an in-depth conversation with Mr. Reifert was mandatory. Speaking of legends: When the Ruhrpott thrashers Sodom release an EP, it needs to be comprehensively analyzed – preferably in a conversation with Mr. Angelripper himself. If all this noise is still not enough, readers can look forward to 30 full pages of information on the most important Black Metal releases.
