Holy Moses & Underground-Verbundenheit: Seit über 40 Jahren machen Holy Moses Musik und haben – gerade in den 80ern und frühen 90ern – Tausende Metalheads mit dem Thrash-Virus infiziert. Nun wollen die Königin und ihre Mannen das Zepter mit ihrem finalen Album „Invisible Queen“ weitergeben und einen Schlussstrich ziehen. Aber wer wird die Aufgaben mit der gleichen Leidenschaft und dem gleichen Talent weiterführen können? Auf acht vollen Seiten sprechen wir mit Sabina, die stets alles andere als unsichtbar war, und der Band, lassen alte Weggefährten zu Wort kommen und analysieren die komplette Diskografie. Echter Kult als Titelstory verpflichtet, und so bleiben wir in der gesamten Ausgabe dem Underground treu. Als Co-Titelstory gibt es deshalb einen langen Artikel mit unseren Schweizer Freunden Nihilo aus Bern, deren musikalische Klasse außer Zweifel steht – 20 Jahre lang beweisen sie schon, was im Metal-Underground möglich ist.

Das zeigen auch die deutschen Black-Metaller Thron, die fulminant die Pole-Position in unserem Soundcheck erobern (knapp vor Aara übrigens, einer schwarzmetallischen Perle aus der Schweiz). Es steht außer Frage, dass wir mit beiden Truppen jeweils ein längeres Gespräch führten.

Selbstredend haben wir auch für all jene Leserinnen und Leser, die sich schon auf den Festival-Sommer einstellen, einiges im Angebot. Umfangreiche Festival-Vorstellungen der diesjährigen Highlights mit ein paar Geheimtipps (zum Beispiel dem Black Hole Festival oder dem französischen Festival de Vouziers) sind ebenso dabei wie Interviews mit Bands, die jede Festival-Bühne zum Kochen bringen – dazu gehören unter anderem Thomas Winklers (Ex-Gloryhammer) neues Projekt Angus McSix, der bombastischen Power-Metal-Spaß mit Pop-Art verbindet, sowie die Charts-Heroen Powerwolf (mit neuer Veröffentlichung am Start) und die schon fast unsterblichen Kamelot. Holy Moses & dedication to the underground: For over 40 years, Holy Moses have created music and infected – especially in the 80s and 90s – thousands of metalheads with the Thrash Metal virus. Now, the queen and her loyal men want to give over the scepter with their final album, “Invisible Queen”, and end their career. But who will be able to fulfill their task with the same passion and talent? On eight full pages we talk with Sabina (who was everything, but never invisible) and her band, we invited old friends for a statement and we analyze the Holy Moses discography. Having real cult Metal as our title story demands from us to continue shining light on quality steel from the underground. Thus, as a co-title story, we lured our Swiss friends from Nihilo in – whose musical class goes without saying – to talk with us about their 20th birthday. These metalheads prove time and again what’s possible and what talent lies in the metal underground.

The same accounts for the German Black Metal band Thron who stormed on the first place of our soundcheck (in a tight race with another Black Metal pearl, namely the Swiss metalheads Aara). It goes without saying that we included a longer talk with both groups in our new issue. Naturally, we are also giving those readers who are already preparing for a hot festival summer what they need: first of all, an extensive presentation of the forthcoming festival highlights including some insiders’ tips like the Black Hole festival or the French Festival de Vouziers. Secondly, we interrogated bands who will set these and other festival stages on fire this year – among others the new project of Thomas Winkler (ex-Gloryhammer), namely Angus McSix, who combines bombastic Power Metal fun with pop-art, as well as the legends Powerwolf (with a new release) and the already nearly immortal Kamelot! And yes, of course, we did not forgot Bobby Blitz’ new album with Overkill, do not worry!
